Juvéderm in Baton Rouge

Juvéderm injectable gel is a smooth-consistency gel designed to restore volume to the skin while reducing the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles. This gel is made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that helps add volume and hydration and is safe and effective for most patients who want to reduce or eliminate the appearance of wrinkles.

What Does Juvéderm Do?

Made with hyaluronic acid — a natural substance found in the body that works with collagen and elastin to provide volume and support to the skin — Juvéderm is especially effective for:

  • Nasolabial folds that run from the bottom of the nose to the sides of the mouth
  • The appearance of marionette lines
  • Filling the cheeks
  • Plumping the lips
  • Enhancing the jawline
  • Softening the appearance of deep tear troughs and dark circles

What Other Procedures Go Well with Juvéderm?

A combination of BOTOX® and dermal fillers deliver optimal results when combined with Matrix RF™ or microneedling for fine lines, wrinkles, texture and pore improvement, and medical-grade skin care products.

Types of Juvéderm

Juvéderm represents one of the very best lines of facial fillers. Different products are used for different areas of concern. Read below to see some of the types of Juvéderm facial fillers we offer.

Juvéderm Voluma XC

Juvéderm Voluma XC is the first and only FDA-approved injectable gel to instantly add volume to the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss in adults over the age of 21. Voluma gives you contour and a subtle lift for up to two years with optimal treatment.

Whether your lips are naturally thin or full, Juvéderm Volbella XC can be used to enhance lip shape and restore lost fullness — and with the addition of pain-reducing lidocaine, you will enjoy greater comfort during the treatment.

Juvéderm Vollure XC

Juvéderm Vollure XC is injected into the areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds occur, lasting up to 18 months with optimal treatment.

Juvéderm Treatments: What to Expect

At Stephens Plastic Surgery + Skincare Aesthetics of Baton Rouge, we make your Juvéderm treatments as comfortable, convenient, and simple as possible. Before the Juvéderm treatment itself, the first step is a consultation with our specialists. During this consultation, we will give you a detailed explanation of the treatment and discuss your dermal filler options. Once we’ve gone over your options and decided on a treatment plan specially designed to fit your needs, your treatment will begin.

Juvéderm is injected into the skin through a simple and minimally invasive procedure in the comfort of our office. As we continue to stay up-to-date with the most innovative techniques and injection patterns in aesthetic medicine, we have broad experience with the use of both needles as well as the cannula.

The cannula is a newer technique for injection that utilizes a blunt-tipped, hollow tube that functions as an alternative to a sharp needle in order to reduce likelihood of complications and improve safety, reduce trauma to the tissues, and minimize discomfort/downtime. Skincare Aesthetics of Baton Rouge is one of the few clinics in the area that offers the use of cannula for multiple injection areas.

Is There Any Downtime?

One of the benefits of Juvéderm treatments is that there’s no need for recovery or downtime. The treatment is short and once the injections are complete, you’ll be able to your usual routine and activities. We do recommend refraining from alcohol, exercise, heat, and sun exposure for 24 hours after treatment to help aid recovery.

You may notice some tenderness, bruising, or swelling in the treatment areas. This is normal and will subside in 2-3 days. Bruising occasionally lasts up to two weeks, but this is rare. During your consultation, we will go over instructions with you that will help minimize all side effects.

Results

Most Baton Rouge patients can achieve optimal results from just one Juvéderm treatment, which takes less than 15 minutes to administer. Filler results are immediately apparent and continue to settle/improve over the course of two weeks. Results typically last for up to one year.

Follow-up visits are encouraged to allow for optimal reassessment once the bruising and swelling have subsided — and it’s usually at this time that patients are wanting to come back for more! They tell us that they’re so happy they finally got filler, and they wish they had visited us sooner.
